While too many chefs in the kitchen can spoil the broth, two chefs in the kitchen are capable of creating an award-winning recipe.
That’s what happened when (add)ventures and the Culinary Arts Museum at Johnson & Wales University combined their talents to collaborate on a website for the museum. Together, they earned a “Best In Class” Interactive Media Award (IMA) from the Interactive Media Council, Inc.
The award is the highest honor bestowed by the IMA Council and represents the very best in planning, execution, and overall professionalism in website design and development. The award was earned in the ‘Museum’ category.
Steve Rosa, founder and CEO of (add)ventures, said, “We are excited about this recognition and grateful to have a client partner like Johnson & Wales University that recognizes the importance of letting creativity simmer a bit before turning up the heat. We have worked with this dynamic institution for years and are proud of this award that we garnered together.”
Richard J.S. Gutman, director and curator of the Culinary Arts Museum, said, “The site has been described as a ‘delicious visual feast’ and is a wonderful representation of the museum’s character, style and extensive culinary collection. We are delighted with the new website!”
When (add)ventures began work on the museum’s website, the firm sought inspiration by visiting the museum. The design and development team were struck by the fun and nostalgic feelings evoked by the museum and knew they had to capture these feelings in their design while making the site resourceful and highly interactive.
Graham Lubie, director of Interactive/Technology, said, “Partnering with the Culinary Arts Museum was a fantastic experience. The team at this organization is high energy and maintains a tremendous collection of visually powerful assets. By advancing through our structured design and development approach and teaming with such an involved group, we were able to deliver an engaging, dynamic and award-winning website.”
The IMA recognizes the highest standards in excellence in website design and development and honors individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievement. The awards competition is open to individuals and organizations involved in designing, developing, managing, supporting and promoting websites. Judges of the competition evaluate websites based on five criteria: design, content, feature functionality, usability and standards compliance.
This is the ninth time that (add)ventures has garnered an IMA award since 2006. The firm has won six “Best In Class” awards and three “Outstanding Achievement” awards.
