Converging all of our aligned dynamic disciplines, our blog provides an intimate look at what we do, how we do it, and what we believe. Think of it as the digital version of our live, work and play spaces. So, have a look. Read on. Watch. And, most importantly, join in.
At (add)ventures, we are driven by our inherent desire to have as much fun as possible. We really try to avoid the uncomfortable office party that goes horribly wrong, where forced conversation around a sad looking punch bowl inevitably leads to employees watching the clock more than they would on any given work day. From the onset, our Leadership Team agreed that they just couldn’t allow that to happen here. After all, how was (add)ventures to go from throwing some pretty stellar client parties to this? And so, Cinco Bistro was born.
Officially, Cinco Bistro is our multicultural taste test kitchen where we introduce the latest trends, new products and offerings in the hospitality, foodservice and tourism industries on the 5th of each month. (Every other day it also serves as our plain ol’ kitchen, where we cream cheese our bagels, spill our coffee and reheat our leftovers.) But unofficially, Cinco Bistro is a place where our entire team puts work aside each month for an hour or so to come together and enjoy decadent food, excellent (and usually stiff) drinks and mouthfuls of laughs.
On the one hand, our Cinco Bistro events allow us to educate one another on the latest trends in the foodservice and hospitality industries. These events provide us with an outlet to introduce unique foods and beverages to the team to keep us up on what the hipsters are eating and drinking. In the past we’ve hosted chefs from Luxe Burger, a brew master from Newport Storm and the coffee experts of Autocrat. We’ve held salsa-making competitions, sampled organic açai berry smoothies and debated the pros and cons of gelato vs. ice cream.
More importantly, Cinco Bistro allows us to highlight the ties that various items have to a specific culture, religion and event. We’ve enjoyed Zeppoles on St. Joseph’s Day, beignets during Mardi Gras and of course margaritas in honor of the kitchen’s namesake, Cinco de Mayo. We’ve sipped on Latin libations, tasted Cajun and Creole delicacies and Chinese finger-foods.
Some years, in lieu of our regular Cinco Bistro events, we have also hosted special Halloween Costume Cincos, Summer Cinco Cookouts and Holiday Parties. We have even had some of our very own (add)venturists share some of their favorite holiday dishes representative of their own culture, traditions and families. We invite you to join us at Cinco each month through our shared photos, featured recipes and stories we’ll post to our blog after each event. Bon Appétit!
