Weaving Social Media into How We Work

While others are asking, “Twitter? What’s the point?” (add)venturists have been making Twitter our own. We begin by listening, first dipping into the social media phenomenon by following both brands and professionals we admire, but also celebrities and other high-profile figures who are making the most of Twitter. We utilize Twitter as an essential component of our research toolkit and continue to be amazed at what we can learn about what real people are saying right now about many of the brands we work with as client partners. 

Andrea Barbosa Fortier, manager, pr/social impact, is an early adopter of the medium, regularly updating @abarbosafortier during the course of her day. She frequently retweets industry articles posted by other experts she follows or posts great links of her own, prefacing them with her perspective on the latest trends in pr and corporate communications. Many times she’ll reach out with a question to the twittersphere or ask one directly to a reporter, brand manager or consumer she’d never be able to reach using more traditional means of communication.

Leading by example—in 140 characters or less – (add)ventures is on the cutting edge of implementing a tool that, in the right hands, can be a fantastic way to engage audiences directly with a brand. We believe the magic behind it isn't about telling the world what you are having for dinner. It's asking questions, engaging directly and building brands by sharing knowledge, tools and experience.
