(add)ventures, a multidisciplinary brand communications firm, recently announced that it will match all employee donations made to the American Red Cross Haiti relief effort. Employees are encouraged to participate in the “Text Haiti” campaign, which has raised over $10 million since the earthquake devastated Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas on January 12, 2010. While employee donations made via text message will support the immediate disaster response, (add)ventures will direct the matched contribution to the long-term rebuilding effort in Haiti.
“At (add)ventures, one of our guiding principals is to ‘simplify complexity for humanity,'” said Stephen Rosa, (add)ventures President and CEO. “We truly admire the innovative, viral fundraising effort the Red Cross has implemented in the aftermath of this tragedy. They made it incredibly easy for people around the world to contribute and the response has been stunning. Encouraging our (add)ventures employee team to send texts for Haiti was an easy decision.”
Employee donations will be matched through (add)LOVE, (add)ventures’ corporate philanthropy program. The mission of (add)LOVE is to support initiatives that meet the health and education needs of children, youth and families throughout the world.
