City Year Miami, a national service organization dedicated to curbing the dropout crisis in urban schools, recently kicked off its first Red Jacket Campaign. This initiative engages community members and corporate partners and uses the power of social media to share their stories of service with the world. On Janurary 18th, (add)ventures joined City Year Rhode Island in a day of service commemorating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A team of employees joined more than 400 students, teachers and community leaders at Roger Williams Middle School in Providence, R.I. to clean and paint 40 classrooms and paint 23 murals in public spaces throughout the 80-year-old school building. The project is part of City Year Rhode Island’s effort to improve the school climate in several Providence middle schools.
(add)ventures, a multidisciplinary brand communications firm, recently announced that it will match all employee donations made to the American Red Cross Haiti relief effort. Employees are encouraged to participate in the “Text Haiti” campaign, which has raised over $10 million since the earthquake devastated Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas on January 12, 2010. While employee donations made via text message will support the immediate disaster response, (add)ventures will direct the matched contribution to the long-term rebuilding effort in Haiti.
On August 3, (add)ventures will be joining Hasbro, Inc. and fans of the G.I. JOE brand for a special charity premiere of one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer, G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra.

The Small Business Administration held its annual awards dinner in Warwick, and (add)ventures was a sponsor of the event. Ten team members attended while company president Steve Rosa received the Minority Businessperson of the Year Award from the U.S. Small Business administrator, Sandy K. Baruah.
