For many years, (add)ventures has been a supporter of the March of Dimes, Rhode Island Chapter. We have been board and committee members and provided monetary and in-kind support for their various fundraisers that have the common goal of “saving babies together”.
This year in support of the newest member of the (add)ventures family, baby Andrew Curtis, we organized the first (add)ventures walk team. Andrew is the newborn son of our friend and colleague Lisa Dutra Curtis, and her husband Chris. He is a premature baby born at 24 weeks on March 11, 2007 weighing only 1lb 2oz. He grows stronger everyday thanks in part to the research lead by the March of Dimes.
With over 25 walkers, including a few strollers and piggy back rides, and support from family, friends, client and production partners, Team (add)ventures raised more than $3,000. This money helps fund research to find out why premature birth happens and what can be done to prevent it.
