WaytogoRI.org Introduces Students to Careers

Making college and career plans is never easy, but the new WaytogoRI.org Web site promises to help guide the way for Rhode Island students. Working with the Rhode Island Higher Education Assistance Authority, the (add)ventures creative and strategy teams led the statewide publicity launch of this cool new Web site – which offers tons of planning tools from self-assessment tests to college and scholarship searches, resume writing tips, and more.

(add)ventures designed and implemented a comprehensive marketing campaign to encourage students to “step into the career of their dreams.” The campaign, which launched in October and continues through February, includes television, radio, print, bus and web ads geared toward encouraging students and their parents to visit the site. (add)ventures also worked with Citadel broadcasting to develop several radio promotions to engage students and their parents, including sponsoring an exclusive concert featuring Varsity Fan Club for 92 Pro Fm listeners.

Casting calls were held in the fall to search for a Rhode Island student who best represents Rhode Island high schoolers who are currently making career and college choices. The winning video audition will be posted on the WaytogoRI.org homepage and Facebook Fan page that (add)ventures is also taking the lead to develop. The winner, which will be announced in January, will receive a $1,500 scholarship and MacBook computer. Runners up will receive a new Flip video camera.

From social media to traditional print advertisements, this comprehensive campaign engages students to learn about themselves and to get started on a path to achieve their dreams.
