As one of the few production facilities in the northeast producing digital media for the big screen, (add)ventures recently created a special movie trailer for the New England premiere of Zathura. (add)ventures’ also produced the movie trailer for last year’s box office hit The Polar Express.
Zathura is based on the best-selling book by the acclaimed children's writer Christopher Van Allsburg. The film stars Oscar winner Tim Robbins, Josh Hutcherson, Jonah Bobo, and Dax Shepard. Twenty-five years after Jumanji (1981), Van Allsburg picks up where he left off, when two young brothers are drawn into an intergalactic adventure after their house is magically hurtled through space because of the board game they are playing.
(add)ventures collaborated with Van Allsburg and his wife Lisa, who are both avid arts advocates, to produce the 14 minute movie trailer that encouraged support for arts scholarships and thanked sponsors, such as CVS/pharmacy and Citizens Bank.
The $250,000 proceeds from the premiere and party were donated to the following arts organizations: Perishable Theatre's after-school mentoring program; Festival Ballet's Dream to Dance scholarships; Rhode Island School of Design's pre-college preparation; the Music School of the Philharmonic's Capital City Band and Chorus, and Creative Communities.
