Team Wins Big at the 39th Annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards
On June 4, 2016, (add)ventures won two Boston/New England Emmy awards for Public Service Single Spot and Editor Short Form for a Public Service Announcement (PSA) we directed, filmed and created for the Prostate Cancer Foundation in 2015. These Emmys recognize our passion and creativity in raising awareness about the importance of prostate cancer screenings.
Filmed at Balletto’s Boxing Gym in Providence, R.I., the spot features boxing legend and five-time heavyweight world champion Evander Holyfield in his natural element – the boxing ring – as he tells his story of perseverance to encourage African American men to get regularly checked for prostate cancer.
“Earning these Emmy awards for such an important cause means so much to us,” said
Stephen Rosa, president and CEO of (add)ventures. “As someone who not only appreciates Providence’s rich boxing tradition, but also experienced friends’ and family members’ battle with prostate cancer, I was proud to bring a legendary boxing champion to Providence for an initiative that is saving lives.”
(add)ventures donated a significant amount of the PSA’s production costs as part of its corporate philanthropy program, (add)love.
